Turn "I'm flexible" into
stupid-cheap flights

I built Detour Flights because I travel like a backpacker: flexible dates, flexible airports, and very flexible routes. It helps you leave from the cheapest airport in a region, find the cheapest multi-country path, and catch insane flight drops before they disappear

"I'll leave from anywhere in this region"

When I'm ready to move — chase a new adventure or go home — I'll fly out of wherever is cheapest. If that means a $15 bus to a different country, even better. More exploration + more money for the next trip

"I'll visit more countries if it's cheaper"

Going from Thailand to Japan? As a backpacker, you have time but not money. You'd rather stop in the Philippines or Vietnam if it saves you hundreds — and you get to see more of the world

"Alert me when prices go crazy low"

The craziest deals — 50% off, mistake fares, sudden drops — are always locked behind a paywall on other sites. I wanted those alerts for free. So I built them.

Why I Built Reverse Flights

The Problem

Stuck in Laos

I'm near a tiny airport in Laos and need to get home to Seattle next week. Every flight from here? $900+. There has to be a better way.

The Journey

Hours of Searching

I searched every airport in Laos, then Vietnam, then all of Southeast Asia. Finally found it: sleeper bus to Bangkok + flight home = $400 saved AND I got to explore more of Thailand!

The Solution

Reverse Flights

Now you can do all that searching with one click. Plus, airlines can't track your searches here — no cookies, no price hikes.

Why I Built Detour Flights

The Discovery

Bangkok 6 Times in 3 Months

Not just for the mango sticky rice & thai tea (okay, partly) — but because it's a hub with insanely cheap connections to anywhere.

The Hack

More Miles, Less Money

Flying from Vietnam to Perth to follow a traveler I'd met? The direct route was brutal. Routing through Kuala Lumpur saved me $250 AND gave me 3 days to explore Malaysia for the first time. I started looking for detours on purpose.

The Solution

Cheapest Path

Enter where you are and where you want to go. Pick how many days you want to explore along the way. I'll find the cheapest route with time to explore somewhere new.
